Child Safety Statement

Movement Therapeutic Support Services is committed to the safety and wellbeing of every child and young person we work with. This is not just a policy; it's the foundation of everything we do.

We have zero tolerance for child abuse of any kind. All concerns, disclosures, and suspicions of harm are taken seriously and responded to promptly, in line with our legal obligations under the Child Protection Act 1999 (Qld) and the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (Qld).

We are committed to providing a genuinely culturally safe environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, recognising that connection to family, community, culture and Country is central to their safety and wellbeing.

What this means in practice:

• A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) is held at all times.
• Clear policies and procedures guide our practice, including a Code of Conduct, a Child-Focused Complaints & Reporting Procedure and a Child Safety Risk Management Strategy.
• Children and young people have accessible ways to raise a concern and are listened to, believed and supported when they do.
• We work in partnership with carers, case managers and referring agencies to keep every child safe.
